Cade Miranda de la Portella . Montserrat

September 19, 2018 climbing in Montserrat. Is a very hot day...

I choose a beautiful route: the Cade of the Miranda de la Portella. Activity with Nuria Serra.

The CADE of the Miranda de la Portella was a grand classic
open 50 years ago.
It climbs the west face of this impressive spire. The route,
only 140 meters is a varied and spectacular climbing.
We will find aid climbing, chimney and interesting free climbing at the last pitch.
It's a good option for warm weather.

Happy at the very top!!!

Abalak from Kouba climbing, excellent pro for this route

L'Avi Trepador, La Codolosa, Montserrat

L’avi trepador is a route that crosses a series of vertical walls with good rock. During the afternoon the route is in the shadow, allowing us to enjoy a fun and nice climb. The itinerary is equipped with hand-drilled bolts (now sold as Cheville autoforeuse by Petzl), being the most abundant in the most difficult parts. It is a short route, only three pitches. Recommended climb that can be combined with others on the same wall.
Carles Vallès and Roberto Blasi did this climb on May 31, 2018

Iron Way! Centelles.

Centelles Iron Way. Nice place to visit.
Awesome place for vertical adventures. Located at just 50 minutes from Barcelona.
We did this activity with Odar the last March 29th.
A complete day of climbing, plus learning abseiling technics.

SPORT CLIMBING TACTICS

TACTICAL CLIMBING

I'll explain what the tactic is.

What is working or seriously trying a route?

Working seriously means not leaving anything to chance and discovering the secret to send the route in the shortest possible time.

You will do and you must answer many questions. You will have many doubts and insecurity along the path that will lead you to climb the route you have chosen.

Where are the resting positions of the route?
Where will I fall, can I protect the fall?
Where is the hard pass?, locate and
 imaging resolution of it.
How many bolts I have to clip, how many meters and
quickdraws does the route require?
Do I trust who belay me? Can he or she remind me of important things while I climb?
Where will I get more tired?
Where can I go to rhythm or fast?
Where should I go slow and pay attention because it is difficult?

You could detail the route in your mind and imagine each step, from below to the anchor point. You could make a video of the route, or a sketch to remember. When you go to sleep you should think about that... and fall asleep dreaming of the route.
Do not leave anything to chance.
And remember the art of climbing are sequences of movements.
This could be your mantra:
"Learn a sequence, then you can send the route"

Luck, Rock Warrior!

Soloist climbing course

Sometimes to book a course is difficult. It is necessary to find the time in a very busy agenda But Carlos and Roberto, they finally did it!
The first day (Saturday 2-11) Carlos and Roberto Blasi meet at Sala de Escalada Magnesi Barcelona.
They did a full training day at Sala de Escalada Magnesi.
Excellent place to start learning the techniques as solo climbing, hauling a bag, fixing the ropes and jumaring technique.

The second day (Thursday 2-16) they travel to Montserrat La Codolosa Wall to solo climb two routes: Full Equip and Avi Trepador.
The next Saturday Carlos climbs by himself several sport climbing routes.
Nice job Carlos!
