Directa Ansó, Ansó Valley, Spain

17:00 hrs, and we decide to climb this short but beautiful route. One of the best climbs you can ever find in this particular place on the Pirinees. Limestone walls of regular quality rock.

We climb fast and light, only one small 20l backpack. Set of friends to number 5. Susana Torres belay me in every pitch. And the end of the route we prepare the ropes to rappel down the entire route (19.00) At 20:00 we reach the bottom of the route and start to hike down to the car. At 21.30 we have been sitting at the restaurant (Camping Zuriza) in order to have a very good meal.

(We did this climb on august 2016)

Susana is climbing the first pitch

We finish the route at 8 o’clock

lights on!

SPORT CLIMBING TACTICS

TACTICAL CLIMBING

I'll explain what the tactic is.

What is working or seriously trying a route?

Working seriously means not leaving anything to chance and discovering the secret to send the route in the shortest possible time.

You will do and you must answer many questions. You will have many doubts and insecurity along the path that will lead you to climb the route you have chosen.

Where are the resting positions of the route?
Where will I fall, can I protect the fall?
Where is the hard pass?, locate and
 imaging resolution of it.
How many bolts I have to clip, how many meters and
quickdraws does the route require?
Do I trust who belay me? Can he or she remind me of important things while I climb?
Where will I get more tired?
Where can I go to rhythm or fast?
Where should I go slow and pay attention because it is difficult?

You could detail the route in your mind and imagine each step, from below to the anchor point. You could make a video of the route, or a sketch to remember. When you go to sleep you should think about that... and fall asleep dreaming of the route.
Do not leave anything to chance.
And remember the art of climbing are sequences of movements.
This could be your mantra:
"Learn a sequence, then you can send the route"

Luck, Rock Warrior!

Soloist climbing course

Sometimes to book a course is difficult. It is necessary to find the time in a very busy agenda But Carlos and Roberto, they finally did it!
The first day (Saturday 2-11) Carlos and Roberto Blasi meet at Sala de Escalada Magnesi Barcelona.
They did a full training day at Sala de Escalada Magnesi.
Excellent place to start learning the techniques as solo climbing, hauling a bag, fixing the ropes and jumaring technique.

The second day (Thursday 2-16) they travel to Montserrat La Codolosa Wall to solo climb two routes: Full Equip and Avi Trepador.
The next Saturday Carlos climbs by himself several sport climbing routes.
Nice job Carlos!

Training sessions at Barcelona

Every week we organice training clases for all levels.
We usually do the clases at Can Caralleu, a nice climbing facility.
